Security Guard FAQ

Yes. Oklahoma requires security officers to hold a licence issued by CLEET. Unarmed officers hold a Phase I licence; armed officers additionally hold a Phase III armed endorsement and must maintain a current firearms qualification. Hiring an unlicensed guard exposes you to liability your insurer will not cover.

Phase I is the unarmed licence, covering legal authority, observation and reporting, and use-of-force limits. Phase III is the armed endorsement, adding firearms training and a live qualification that must be kept current. An officer cannot legally carry on duty in Oklahoma without a valid Phase III.

Security officers are not police and do not hold police powers. An officer may detain in narrowly defined circumstances, but the professional standard is observe, document and report — escalating to law enforcement when a situation warrants it. Your post orders define exactly where that line sits for your property, and officers are briefed on it before assignment.

Yes. We carry commercial general liability coverage and can issue a certificate of insurance naming your organisation as additional insured. Most commercial property managers, venues and general contractors in Oklahoma City require this before work begins.

Yes. Every officer is background checked and CLEET-licensed before assignment, and licence and qualification expiry dates are tracked so nobody works on a lapsed credential.

It depends on risk, environment and insurance requirements — not budget alone. Unarmed officers suit most access control, retail and multifamily posts where visible deterrence and documentation are the goal. Armed officers make sense for cash handling, high-value inventory, or environments with a credible history of violent incidents. We assess the site and tell you which the post actually calls for.

Rates depend on officer count, total hours, whether the post is armed, and lead time. Overnight, holiday and short-notice coverage carry a premium. We quote per post after a site assessment rather than publishing a rate that would not survive contact with your actual requirements.

Yes. Officers file written incident reports and time-stamped patrol checkpoints, and those go to you. If something occurred on your property you will read about it rather than hear about it weeks later.

Yes — crowd management, entry screening, bag checks and closing support for venues, festivals, weddings, corporate functions and private events. Give us as much notice as you can; large events need staffing planned in advance, though we do take short-notice work when officers are available.

A marked vehicle making randomised visits on an irregular schedule, with time-stamped checkpoint reporting. It is the cost-effective choice when a property needs visible presence and documented checks but cannot justify a full-time static post — construction sites, vacant properties and multi-building complexes are typical.

Discreet close protection and secure transport for individuals facing elevated risk — executives, public figures, visiting principals, or people dealing with a specific credible threat. It is planning-led rather than presence-led: route selection, advance work and contingency planning matter more than visible muscle.

Yes, under Oklahoma private investigator licensing — background research, surveillance, and civil case support conducted to an evidentiary standard so findings hold up if the matter proceeds. We do not take work whose purpose is harassment or unlawful surveillance.

Apply through the careers page. You can attach a résumé and any CLEET licence or certification documents directly to the application. If you do not hold a CLEET licence yet, apply anyway and say so — we would rather talk to a good candidate early than lose them to paperwork.

Not necessarily. A current licence lets us place you faster, and an armed Phase III opens more posts. Candidates without a licence are still considered, and we will explain the licensing pathway during the conversation.

Reliability first — turning up on time, in uniform, every shift. After that, judgment and written communication: an officer who documents clearly is worth more than one who simply looks the part. Prior security, military or law enforcement experience helps but is not required.
